Never let anyone else give you your dignity, especially not your oppressor
I hate to say this, but Black Pride, to me, is not winning an Oscar. Black Pride is knowing that you don't need an Oscar in order to know that you are great at what you do.
Black people must carefully consider how odd it is that the very same community that legalized our public torture and murder are the ones we look to in order to feel worthy. Some might say that this is a severe mental illness.
Never let anyone else give you your dignity, especially not your oppressor. God gave you your validation before you were born.
